The Wicksteed Trust

he Wicksteed Trust was established by Charles Wicksteed in 1916 to carry out his work after his death and to keep his dream alive.

The Wicksteed Trust’s charitable objectives are

* To relieve persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress as a result of local, national or international disaster or by reason of their social and economic circumstances.
* To provide in the interests of social welfare and leisure time occupation, free access to both or either of a public recreation area and a country park and to provide playgrounds and other amenities, particularly free for children.
* To safeguard the environment and heritage property for the benefit and education of the general public.
* The advancement of education with a view to reducing domestic violence, child abuse or other inhumanity to mankind or to animals.
* To provide charitable support and facilities to other charities and organisations which are specialists in the field where the Trustees deem it appropriate in order to use the Trust's assets to their best use and in project partnerships where the purpose is charitable.
* To encourage participation in and provide facilities for recreational pursuits including sports and the arts.
* To preserve and safeguard the health and well-being of all persons, particularly those persons suffering from social deprivation, illness, violence, disability or cruelty.
* The advancement of education generally and the protection of health.

The Wicksteed Trustees annually review these objectives to ensure that any activity that is being carried out is related to at least one of them.
